Netties
Welcome to the official Netties website!!!!  We thank you for stopping by.  After many years renting a kitchen in a local veterens club Nettie Escamilla realized her dream as a small business owner.  Along with her long time companion Abe co-owner, her daughter Kathy co-owner and Kathy's husband Mike co-owner Nettie sought out a location to open what would soon be one of Omaha's Most Well Known Family Owned and Operated Mexican Restaurants.  With alot of hard work Nettie's Fine Mexican food opened in May of 1987.  And after 21 wonderful years Nettie's is still a South Omaha Institution!  You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!!  Nettie was even daring enough to offer her family favorite the potatoe and pea enchilada but if you are in the mood for spicy you have to try Netties famous red chile.  The deep fried flour tacos are amazing especially the toad it may have a funny name but you won't forget this perfect mix of beef beans and chile.  All of this wonderful food can be paired with the most delicious margarita you will ever drink. With over 10 different rita's to choose from you won't be able to resist trying at least one. Although Nettie and Abe have both passed Nettie's memory lives on through the food. Grandchildren can be seen bartending or waiting tables Kathy can still be found waiting tables just as she did on that first day in 1987.  Her husband Mike can be seen as the host on the weekend evenings. Netties eldest daughter and now co-owner Sandy (Tina) is also the weekday hostess.  And of course what would there be without Nettie's recipes which are amazingly duplicated everyday by Nettie's daughter Susie also a co-owner.
Over the years customers have become friends and Nettie's is always open to making new friends!
